LIP has made-up and manufactured the first electronic watch in 1952. Electronic watch which had been offered to Eisenhower and de Gaulle Presidents. Bill Cliton will also wear the watch. Here is the re-edition by LIP, re-edition that keeps the same vintage unique looking. Mineral glass, water resistant 3ATM/30m, dimensions : 41mmx35mm. Black leather bracelet, steel case.
LIP is the emblematic brand of the French horlogery. Born in 1867, the brand has been number 1 for a long time in the hexagon. After 10 years of mediated difficulties, the LIP company has been relaunched and we can discover its very nice collection of revival mythic designs from the 70s.

The french government has offered this Electronic watch to the Presidents de Gaulle and Eisenhower in 1952. LIP was then the main watch maker in France and this Electronic watch (first made up by LIP) was the symbol of the rebirth of french afterwar economy. This watch was also offered to Bill Clinton at the occasion of the 50th birthday of the French Liberation.
The LIP Re-edition of the Electronic watch is really loyal to the original model. We find the 50s esthetical codes with some futuristic spirit, it has a little Forbidden Planet spirit that makes of it a really unique vintage timepiece.
Nice dimensions, 41x35mm, a water resistant case 30m/3 ATM and a leather straop band. Pure, simple, vintage.
J'ai pu voir qu'il existait plusieurs modèle de cette montre. Qu'en est-il du modèle exactement offert au Général DeGaulle ?
Commentje l'ai reçu 2 jours ouvrés après la commande. Très belle montre. Bel objet. Belle boîte.
CommentAurélien, si, ce sont bien les mêmes mais il y a un effet miroir sur les aiguilles qui sont chromées dans leur partie intérieure. Elles reflètent parfois une zone noire sur certaines photos. (Toutes les photos sont faites par Timefy sur base des modèles que nous proposons). La photo de la Général de Gaulle portée est bien représentative de la montre.
CommentSi je ne m'abuse, ce n'est pas exactement la même montre sur toutes vos photos : les aiguilles sont parfois noires, parfois blanches ! Laquelle reçoit-on après une commande ?

Dispongo de un reloj, LIP, calendario, segundero central, modelo "Montre du General", movimiento a quarz, idéntico al de la fotografía excepto que, en la esfera en la misma posición en la que en la fotografía figura "electronic", en el de mi propiedad figura escrito en dos líneas: D-Day (en la linea superior) y 1944-1994 (en la línea inferior).
CommentDesearía saber si corresponde a una fabricación especial de LIP conmemorativa del 50 aniversario del desembarco de Normandia.
